National Day of Prayer
May 7, 2020

Greetings in the name of prayer!

Prayer unites us to God and to one another. When Jesus left the earth, He said “…and I will ask the Father and He will give you a Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to be with you forever” (John 14:16).

In a day of compromised reasoning, many people welcome the calming effect of spending time with the Master. He is never too busy and tells us to “Draw near to me and I’ll draw near to you” (James 4:8).

Seeking God’s supernatural power through prayer is our connecting strength which unites our hearts together when we lay our differences down. It is prayer which ignites a loving unity among us. “But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit” (I Corinthians 6:17). Our speech begins to sound and our actions begin to imitate our Master as we spend time with Him. Our desires and thoughts become a reflection of the one to whom we are united and with whom we spend time.

The 2020 National Day of Prayer theme is PRAY GOD'S GLORY ACROSS THE EARTH. Taken from Habakkuk 2:14, which says, For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea."

National Day of Prayer is a great day to blend God’s people together in our community. Come and invite your neighbors and friends to join in a time of prayer, bonding, and seeking our Master God to heal our land.
